In India, beauty means fairness for many peoples and they are obsessed with fairness. From long time in India people think that no one can be beautiful without fairness. People want to be fair here, especially girls in India.
Indian Market is good for fairness product. Companies are earning too much from fairness product in India by online advertisement that shows that a normal person uses their creams and he/she became fair.
It is myth that fairness is important or it is really part of beauty? What you think about it ?

Fairness is adopted from British rule, we Don’t have race issue until this British peoples propaganda fairness is beautiful. British queens should look lighter than the citizens, so they waer light powder mask in 17th 18th century. Indian culture developed based on cast not by skin color. Even after British left and most of Westerner change their view in 19th century, then start going to tanning salon, Indians keep the British thinking until now as we keep their language. The cosmetic products wants to do some kind of business so they also make advertisement like fairness gives you all!
Do you know this fairness issue is not only Indian thinking, Still Chinese want to look like Japanese, who has lighter skin than Chinese. Thailand peoples wants to look like Chinese people’s because Chinese has lighter skin than those east Asian countries. So everyone is not happy about how they look.
Beautiful people and ugly people exists everywhere.Okay as you guys said lets take Indians are ugly.Now Are all Americans beautiful?You must be kidding if you wanna say YES coz I don’t think a guy/girl who looks like a Rhino with color of a white pig is sexy.By the way obesity is high in USA than India.I’m not saying every Indian’s are beautiful,but there are beautiful Indians too.Its just there are beautiful people and ugly people in every country and let me ask you guys,Is it right to make fun of a guy who is ugly?He/She is also a human,Have we lost every morals in us.I’ve seen many ugly girls in my life,but I never said they look ugly,I always said they look beautiful as they will get a little bit of confidence.
But I must say some of the rules in Indian culture sucks!Its not liberal,its restricted…It sucks big time and about the fairness issue,its changing slowly,India is a huge country with high population density,its a little difficult to change that quickly but its changing,atleast I’m…coz I’m dating a dark Indian girl who is so sexy…Well I should say South India is developed and they are more modern thinking and there is no fairness problem there.But we North Indians have to improve more in the fairness issue,we are still narrow minded.Indians rules,Indian rules sucks
i don’t all this but i have seen that a Black person is a victim of racism from childhood. Even i the faced the same by everyone, including siblings, neighbors, society, friends, gals everyone. It is okay for a adult, but its very painful to explain a child why he is the victim of all this,also this lead to serious deepression
But i didn’t mind, because i m a black and i m proud of it. i always laugh it off..
