Eid in UAE, Saudi, Kuwait and many other countries who follow Saudi Arabia has announced Eid on Friday. They announced that Thursday will be last day for fasting. Qatar will also celebrate the festival on Friday.
In India, Eid is normally celebrated next day of Saudi Arabia so it is likely that Indians will celebrate it on Saturday 11 September. Moonsighting is expected on Thursday, September 9 in most of the world. so Eid will be on Friday, September 10 in most of the world. However, according to a new fatwa from the European Council for Fatwa and Research (ECFR), Eid-al-Fitr will be on Thursday 9th September.
Update – Eid will be celebrated on Saturday in India.

Dear Carmy, i dont know u r of which religion, the question was logical of urs but u should understand that the timing is wrong, u must know that every festival r somewhere depended with moon because it is revoluting the earth, the hours and minutes changes accordingly due to the distance between sun snd earth, earth and moon. since moon is a single natural satelite of earth and sun is definite on its point so the measurement is always considered between earth n moon, if u’ll be on any other planet the timing again will be changed according to tah planet and the satelite. Same is similarly illogical like the questions of urs, try to get the answers of urs first from people surrounds u than talking these on networking sites. hope u can understand silently.

1. Why the Muslims don’t have an Islamic calendar by which we could plan our lives?
Answer: Islamic calendar depends on visual sighting of a Hilal (waxing crescent moon) on 29th or 30th day of each lunar month. Modern computers may produce a fairly reliable “Local” Hijri calendar but the dates cannot be 100% accurate and have to be adjusted every month after a “local” moon-sighting is confirmed.
Keep in mind that there are always 4-5 parallel “Local” Hijri calendars dates for each solar date because the “Local” visibility covers the entire globe on multiple solar dates.
The Muslims cannot have a “Global” Islamic Hijri calendar as no calendar can be fixed on the basis of strict lunar visibility. The earth is NOT a flat field, and the earliest lunar visibility begins from a different location on the globe every month. There are many other complications and the Muslims have to overcome all those hurdles.
2. Why the Muslims cannot use a solar calendar.
Answer: There is no problem prohibition for the Muslims to use a solar calendar for normal human activities. Only for religious observances (Ramadan, Hajj, Eidain, etc.) the Qur’an (2:189) specifies Hilal as the criterion. The Messenger (saw) could adopt the lunar calendar based on the New Moon at Jerusalem that was used by the Jews in Medina. Instead he asked the Muslims to look for a clearly seen Hilal to begin their fasting month and to end it. If it was cloudy or hazy on the 29th evening then he asked the Muslims to complete 30 days of the lunar month.

Eid is Not Depend On Moon.
But The Calendar Has On The Basis Of The Moon. U Can C The Islamic Calendar The Evey 1st Date Will Start From the next Day of the appearing Moon which has started to Grow, And it takes 15 days to take its round shap which means half month,and another 15 days to disapear complety,, If the moon has not started to apear it means the previos month has not end,hope u understand it means still Ramzan is not end if ther is no Moon in the sky..
